Laura Govan Talks Gilbert, Growing Up x Shedding Weight

Laura Govan might not be everyone’s favorite housewife on “Basketball Wives: Los Angeles” but the feisty lady has got a lot to live up to. She’s been with her children’s father (and NBA player) for over 10 years, and they’re engaged as well. Even though they are together Laura’s still got to be independent and is making her money on the VH1 show.

In her latest interview with J’Adore magazine, Laura talks about many things– and she even gets into a couple of personal details about her relationship with Gilbert (nothing out of the ordinary), bouncing back after a little ones, and growing up in a rough CA city; Oakland.

Laura on Gilbert:
Whether he still plays ball or not, I’m still going to be married to the person that I fell in love with. We’re not announcing the date yet. When we do, it will be small and intimate. We actually got engaged three years ago. That ring that everyone saw is three years old. If anything, he needs to upgrade that ring. We’ve been together for 10 years.

Laura talks Oakland:
I have nine brothers and sisters and we grew up well; both parents had jobs but we worked hard for things we wanted. [...] I was a jack of all trades growing up and I come from a working family.
